This sumptuously thick Fair Trade Woolly 'Maya' Hoody is warm enough to use as a coat on cold days, Fleece-lined and fully-zipped this hoody is decorated with pretty floral embroidery on the back, hood and sleeves. The hood is threaded with a cord and wooden toggle for tightening against the winter weather and has 2 zipped pockets. Made for us by a group of rural women in Kathmandu. They are employed by a producer who is a member of BAFTS and they are paid around 35% more than the minimum, and the women have access to healthcare and good pensions. Available in Bark and Burgundy, in sizes S/M (chest width 50cm x L56cm) and M/L (chest 57cm x L62cm). Please see drop down boxes for available colours and sizes. Handmade in the Himalayas, these beautiful, top quality woollen accessories are just so special in so many ways! Not only do their lovely autumnal colours (perfect for mixing and matching) and unusual designs exude a wonderful `joie de vivre' but they also help to supplement the subsistence income of small farmers in Nepal who knit when the daily work is finished or slow. By supplying year round orders to the knitters they are assured regular and reliable income. The Maya Hoody and felt accessories are produced as part of a fair trade project in a unit in Kathmandu. All the woollen items in this range can be machine washed on a wool cycle or handwashed in luke warm water.
